By the end of September  2008
Jaistemay Marquez 17 kid year old and Jorge Marquez (Team Kameca) make the first run of rio Tanquilin south of Valles
Last rain season was  verry unusal, and the clasic runs Micos, Tampaon, El Salto, etc... were not negotiable at all because their high  level
the section that they ran start by Xaltipa and finiched in Tanquilin (this is the most interest section, the lower one sitll have few nice rapids but then you will find  2 hrs or more for plain water untill the junction of the rio Axtla

The Tancuilin run defenitly is the most beautifull class  II/III river we ever done, the hole run is about 15 km and has at least 40 good rapids
this year as soon as the water came back we already planin to run the upper section that promise to be very intersting, steep and harder
we will keep  informing  about it.

Jorge Marquez

Hey Jorge,
Great to hear about the Tancuillin again. IF you care to write a little description of it (put-in, take-out, what you encounter along the run) I'll be sure to include in the new guidebook I'm putting together.  I'm nearing completion of the first couple to north and west Mexico. Others will cover south and east.
I look forward to seeing you again this fall.
Rocky
