Since Hurricane Dean landed it has been raining constantly day and night for ten days in Ciudad Valles, the rivers are rising and more rain is expected.  Local kayakers and Aventura Huasteca will be conducting a civil protection tour near Ebano midway between Ciudad Valles and Tampico.  Cascadas Micos is currently class V or VI and a slide is reported in the area.

The rains continue in the Huastecan region.  The rainfall now exceeds by 30% the 989 milimeters of rainfall from Hurricane Gert in 1993.

Tamuín has been evacuated.  The road from Ciudad Valles to Tampico is passable to heavy trucks.  The road from Ciudad Valles to RioVerde has been closed for the next 15 days.
