The May/June 2007 issue of American Whitewater mentions the Río de Oro as a short river that runs from a volcano to the ocean.  It is described as having waterfalls.  It appears to be in the Reserva Especial La Biosfera San Martin near San Andres Tuxtla.

According to Tom McEwan, when driving south to the Río de Oro, turn left just before crossing the bridge.  Drive down to the beach which is the take-out.  Ask for Fernando (whom everyone knows) to get information on the put-in which is reached by driving across a field.
